JoVanni Allen

JoVanni is an associate with Recht Kornfeld P.C. He is as familiar with the courtroom as he is with a legislative committee room, and his combined experience allows him to wear many hats as a lawyer.

Prior to joining Recht Kornfeld, JoVanni served as a Deputy District Attorney in Colorado’s First Judicial District. There, JoVanni handled a variety of criminal matters as a trial attorney, ranging from DUIs, Domestic Violence, to Child Abuse—taking more than 20 of these cases to jury verdict.

JoVanni has a thorough background in public policy and politics.  He served as a legislative aide for a number of Colorado State Senators, researching pending bills, dealing with interest groups and lobbyists, and working with the professional legislative staff on major legislation. He is also familiar with Colorado’s campaign finance structure given his work for state political committees and candidate campaigns.  

JoVanni completed his law degree at the Northeastern University School of Law. There, he served as a Senior Editor for the Northeastern Law Review, served on the Executive Board of the Latin American Law Students Association, as well as the Diversity Committee for the ABA’s Young Lawyer Division. Additionally, JoVanni worked at the Colorado Attorney General’s Office and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Christine M. Arguello of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. In these experiences, JoVanni researched and drafted orders in various areas of civil law.

Currently, JoVanni is a member of the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association, and works closely as a mentor for Law School . . . Yes We Can!, a Colorado program designed to target high achieving college students from diverse backgrounds and initiate a pipeline of success for their future legal education and careers in law. 

JoVanni is a Colorado Native and takes great pride in the culture and values of the state. From rooting for every and all Colorado sports teams, to enjoying the outdoors and cuisine that make this state excellent.
