Lara Marks Baker
An experienced trial lawyer in both state and federal courts, Lara Marks Baker understands that a criminal allegation can have a myriad of ancillary consequences. Her sophisticated practice includes handling related investigations and/or civil litigation involving the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, the Securities and Exchange Commission, collegiate and secondary educational settings, the Colorado Department of Human Services and the Colorado Office of Attorney Regulation. She also focuses on criminal law and Title IX litigation. She has particular interest in matters concerning juvenile justice.
Prior to focusing on criminal work, Lara spent years litigating a variety of civil matters, including countless complex and high-profile cases for clients whose cases required a combination of seasoned diplomacy, powerful trial skill and attention to detail at the highest levels.
Lara has served on the Colorado Board of Directors for the Criminal Defense Bar; as president of the Cherry Creek Academy Board of Directors; and, as appointed by the Colorado legislature, on the Title IX Legislative Advisory committee. She founded the “Juvenile Justice Symposium” program, which educates families and communities on the dangers and criminal realities facing today’s youth. She has served on the young adult board of the Anti-Defamation League’s Glass - Partners in Leadership and the University of Colorado District Attorney's task force for student athletes.
She is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado. Lara has been consistently named to the national listings of Best Lawyers in America® in Criminal Defense: General Practice, 5280 Magazine’s “Top Lawyers” and Colorado Super Lawyers.
