Rachel Banks
Rachel Banks is an experienced trial attorney whose practice focuses on representing individuals in both professional liability and criminal defense matters. Her practice emphasizes complex cases, including serious allegations of medical and attorney malpractice, and felony criminal charges. Rachel takes tremendous pride in standing with clients who are experiencing some of the most stressful moments of their lives and providing them with an excellent and robust defense.
Rachel previously served as a trial attorney at the Bronx Defenders for five years, where she represented over one thousand clients on issues ranging from traffic violations to serious violent felonies. Rachel has successfully litigated numerous jury and bench trials, suppression hearings, preliminary hearings, and bond arguments. In addition to her work representing clients, Rachel mentored younger attorneys and supervised law students.
Rachel received her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she graduated Order of the Coif, and was recognized with the Public Good Distinction. While in law school, Rachel was a Chancellor Scholar (a full tuition scholarship provided to a select group of students who demonstrate academic excellence and social justice dedication), was a member of both the Chancellor Scholarship Board and OUTLaws, served as a research assistant, and participated in mock trial where she was voted “Best Advocate.”
